Now though the Rover management had decided the MG badge was for genuine sports cars only and already plans and actions were afoot to provide such cars (MGF, are your ears burning?) Thus future performance Rover Metros were to be the GTa and GTi models.įront: Independent bottom link braced by anti roll bar. ![]() The MG Metro Turbo was replaced in 1990 by the Rover Metro GTi, with the advanced K series engine delivering more power and delivering it through an end on 5 speed gearbox. Looking for an MG Metro Turbo? Try Car and Classic or eBay… But don’t expect much change from £10,000! (The same HT leads used by the Mini and Morris Minor.) This car uses a Viper coil, along with a Powerspark 65D Distributor and 8mm double Silicone HT Leads. These cars were equipped with electronic ignition from the factory, using a Lucas 65D Distributor. With a quoted bhp of 93, 0–60 mph in 9.9 seconds, and top speed of 112 mph (180 km/h) this car had few direct competitors at the time, although the growing demand for “hot hatches” meant that it soon had a host of competitors including the Ford Fiesta XR2, Peugeot 205 GTI and Renault 5 GT Turbo. The Peugeot 205 GTI would arrive in 1984, and the rest, as they say, is history. Launched at the October 1982 Birmingham Motor Show the MG Metro Turbo went head to head in the marketplace with Ford’s XR2 (launched 1981). Give it a lick of paint and bobs your uncle. This lovely MG Metro Turbo popped by for a new distributor and ignition module. If you just started Mini Metro, this guide. This supposes, thus, that you know the basics of the game, such as the types of stations, the way the game functions, when the game is lost, the upgrades you can get, the available commands, etc. I did this during the evings after work in one week and was no great hassle. In this guide, I am going to give you some tips on how to improve your Mini Metro runs. The working end to end methodicly swao everything that is differant on the mioni engine over to the metro engine. In all honesty the best thing to do is get bothe engines out and put them next to each other. Decide where to use your limited resources. As new stations open, redraw your lines to keep them efficient. Draw lines between stations and start your trains running. I have been swapping her original (and knackered) 1275 lump for that of an MG metro lump. Mini Metro is a strategy simulation game about designing a subway map for a growing city. I have just been doing this almost exact same job to Kylie. THis is an easy five minute job and should just involve swapping the one on your 998 lump for the one on the metro lump. Horney wrote:You might well have to replace the clutch cover houseing (i think thats what it's called) as the Mini has a hydrolic clutch whereas most of the metros had a cable clutch. Oh and fitting the HT leads 180 degrees out. ![]() The biggest problem I had on the first engine change I did was getting the drive-shaft nuts undone. Be carefull when refitting the drive shafts, the pot joints can tear the lip seal on the diff end covers which results in a persistant oil leak. You will need a cooper or GT radiator top bracket. If the motor has the "pointless" electronic dizzy then you need to add an ignition live to the electronic pack on the dizzy. There are people who can recalibrate your speedo (speedycables ?), or you could change the speedo drive gear on the back of the diff casing. The speedo calibration will probably be out as well, almost all metro 1300's had a 3.44 diff ratio where most mini's of your era had a 3.1 diff ratio. When refitting remember to re-connect the speedo drive before lowering the engine fully into place. It will probably foul the mini fan, you can slip a spacer between the water-pump pulley and the fan to space it out a bit, and some people have "adjusted" the breather with a hammer, but best to use a mini one. The breather on the timing chain cover is at an angle on the metro where the mini one is virticle. Once you have the Metro motor out of the old car you need to change the metro engine mounts to mini ones. Everything but the line layout is handled automatically trains run along the lines as quickly as they can, and the commuters decide which trains. Your task is to draw routes between the stations to connect them with subway lines. Your small city starts with only three unconnected stations. ![]() Cairo also has a metro line, but it gets very cramped and unpleasant. Mini Metro is a minimalistic subway layout game. If you're doing this yourself I would rent or hire an engine hoist rather than struggle. Tucked away down a small side street in Zamalek, this female only spa is a little.
